Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. ~ 2 Corinthians 9:6

About the Tithe

When you tithe, you’re trusting God with your finances. Tithing is a biblical principle found in the Old testament. God called his people to commit the first 10% of their income, harvest, livestock and even time back to Him. This principle carries through the New Testament in various ways. We’ve seen God provide abundantly in our life, and the lives of many believers, and we know He will provide abundantly for you and your family when you put Him first in your life entirely, not simply your finances. In fact, when it comes to giving, it is the one area in the Bible where God tells you to test Him.

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”  ~ Malachi 3:10 NIV

There is an emphasis on finances because our income most often represents our means for living and is the fruit of our labor. Giving of our income is one avenue by which we can honor the Lord and support the work of ministry.

We do not ‘give’ to ‘get’ from God, but we give, in order to honor and obey Him and His word.
Scripture teaches that the tithe was demonstrated as far back as the Old Testament through Abraham - Genesis 14:20, and was affirmed as a continuing practice through Christ and His disciples - Matthew 6:1-4.
We believe the Bible teaches us to give with a joyful heart, generously without compulsion.
God promises to provide all our needs when we honor Him with our time, talents, and resources.
